Project manager
Main responsibilities/assignments:
- Supporting projects on all activities related to project cost, schedule and risk, project management processes and administrative functions, internal and external reporting. This includes managing the relationship with the customer and driving internal teams and external suppliers by setting objectives and milestones. Coordination with the Company’s leadership team to ensure adequate resources are allocated to the project.
- Supporting and monitoring the preparation of complex procurement actions, from tendering to closure of contract taking into account management, financial and planning aspects in relation to the program objectives and constraints.
- Monitoring, controlling and high-level reporting of schedule performance of the overall Program, including authorizing corrective actions related to schedule variance
- Monitoring, controlling and high-level reporting of the overall program risks and opportunities
- Preparing, maintaining and reporting on cost-at-completion status, including annual cost plans and workforce planning, identifying potential problem areas and proposing remedial action.
- Application of design to cost approach.
- Lead/Chair project reviews.
Required technical skills/competences:
- Proven experience in the application of project management, project control principles and advanced project control techniques in the space industry (ideally 8 years or more).
- Awareness of space structure and thermal control subsystems – A level of technical knowledge or awareness about space structural and/or thermal engineering would be highly desirable.
- Full business lifecycle management, including proposal preparations, qualification and developing activities, design and manufacturing, assembly, integration and test up to delivery to the customer and contract closure.
- Knowledge and/or understanding of space systems architecture.
- Good Knowledge of PM software tools like Microsoft Project.
- The position will be involved in several projects simultaneously, hence good planning, prioritization and interpersonal skills are key soft skills.
A professional level of the English language (oral and written) is required. Other European languages are beneficial but not necessary.
We value previous experience with ESA projects and ECSS standards.
Business Development Support
Main responsibilities/assignments:
- Support in market analysis and identifications of new business opportunities and new ways of reaching existing markets.
- Support in seeking and submitting proposals for potential contracts outside ESA projects.
- Participate in proposal preparation from the management, business, financial and technical aspects.
- Support activities connected with business relationships with clusters, chambers, associations, universities, ministries, other state and industrial institutions.
- Support in the optimisation of the business development processes and activities.
- Support in the management of the marketing and business related projects.
Required technical skills/competences:
- Degree in engineering discipline – strong technical background.
- The position will be involved in several projects simultaneously, hence good planning, prioritization and interpersonal skills are key soft skills.
- Written and verbal communication skills – needed for communicating with a range of people, both internally and externally, as well as presentation skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize your workload.
- Project management and organizational skills.
- Ability to motivate yourself and set your own goals.
- Negotiating skills.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Flexible approach to work with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Knowledge and/or understanding of space systems architecture and engineering experience in a project or programme will be an asset.
