Project manager
Main responsibilities/assignments:
- Supporting projects on all activities related to project cost, schedule and risk, project management processes and administrative functions, internal and external reporting. This includes work breakdown structure, financial matters, scheduling, configuration, documentation, progress control, geographical return and general project administration.
- Supporting the preparation, procurement and monitoring of complex procurement actions, from tendering to closure of contract, and for management, financial and planning aspects.
- Supporting negotiations with industrial contractors, and supporting the project team in various programmatic aspects and provide the necessary elements for management decision-making.
- Preparing, maintaining and reporting on cost-at-completion status, including annual cost plans and workforce planning, identifying potential problem areas and proposing remedial action.
- Supporting project reviews. Participation in technical projects meetings.
- Preparation and negotiation of CCN if necessary.
Required technical skills/competences:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or relevant discipline.
- Experience in the application of project management, project control principles and advanced project control techniques are essential.
- The ability to summarize complex information and having the ability to prepare reports, dashboards and KPIs.
- The position will be involved in several projects simultaneously, hence good planning, prioritization and interpersonal skills are key soft skills.
- Knowledge and/or understanding of space systems architecture and engineering experience in a project or programme will be an asset.
- Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and solve problems effectively.
- Teamwork skills.
A professional level of the English language (oral and written) is required. Other European languages are beneficial but not necessary.

System Engineer - Life Sciences Payloads
Main responsibilities:
- Define system-level requirements and experiment architecture for biological payloads in microgravity.
- Manage the end-to-end technical development of biological experiment hardware.
- Support mission planning, payload integration, and verification activities for ESA programs.
- Coordinate with ESA, industrial partners, and scientific users for experiment design and validation.
- Analyze biological requirements (temperature, sterility, containment, etc.) and translate them into engineering constraints.
- Prepare and review documentation according to ESA ECSS standards.
- Contribute to proposal writing and technical reports.
You will support the design, development, integration, testing, and operation of biological experiments in microgravity conditions—particularly in collaboration with the European Space Agency (ESA) and other international partners. This position focuses on life sciences experiments (e.g., cellular biology, microbiology, tissue engineering) conducted aboard platforms like the ISS, Space Rider, or sounding rockets.
Required skills/competences:
- MSc or PhD in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience with biological microgravity experiments (e.g., flown on the ISS, sounding rockets, or parabolic flights).
- Hands-on experience with ESA life science payloads or hardware (e.g., Biolab, Kubik, ICE Cubes, Space Rider payloads).
- Familiarity with ESA standards (e.g., ECSS), hardware development cycles, and AIT (Assembly, Integration, and Testing) processes.
- Strong interdisciplinary understanding of both biology and engineering principles.
- Experience with sterile handling, biological sample containment, and temperature control systems.
- Proficient in technical documentation, system-level integration, and verification plans.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
